The question behind her work

Most appointments have time to ask

What is the main concern today?

Andrea also asks

What has been disrupted, and what will help you adapt to what comes next?

Her story

The path here

Andrea Garratt, Upper Rissington

Before Chinese medicine, Andrea spent years travelling the world caring for elite equine athletes, and trained in sports massage along the way. The work taught her a great deal about how bodies recover. It also left her looking for a way of working that considers the wider picture of a person’s health.

That search led her to acupuncture. She qualified from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading in 2012, trained in both Five Element and TCM acupuncture, and went on to qualify in classical Chinese herbal medicine.

Today she runs Resolve from her clinic in Upper Rissington, seeing patients from across the Cotswolds and, for herbal medicine, online.

Qualifications

Training

  • 2012: Licentiate in Acupuncture (Lic Ac) and BSc (Hons) Acupuncture, College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, Reading.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Gynaecology, Fertility and Obstetrics, supporting her special interest in reproductive health.
  • Classical Chinese herbal medicine, rooted in the Shang Han Lun.
  • White Pine Circle: Woman’s Great Turning, in both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.
  • Ongoing professional development throughout her career.

Teaching

She practises it. She teaches it.

Andrea now teaches at the college where she trained, as Professional Practice Programme Leader at HSU Reading – CICM Acupuncture.

Teaching keeps her close to current thinking in the profession, and it means the practitioner you see is also helping to shape the next generation of acupuncturists.
